Israel orders a security review of foreign civil aviation after the flydubai mid-air incident, with scrutiny over how an Omani co-pilot was cleared for the Israel-bound flight.
Israel orders security review of international flights
October 5, New Delhi(Rights Media): Israel has ordered a security review of international flights to the country on October 4, days after the flydubai mid-air incident.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has instructed the head of the National Security Council, Shmuel Ben Ezra, to appoint an examiner to conduct a thorough review of all security aspects of foreign civil aviation to Israel.
The review order came days after an Omani co-pilot attacked an Indian pilot mid-air in an attempt to crash the Dubai-Tel Aviv flydubai plane on September 30.
Calls have mounted in Israel for an investigation into the security lapse with critics asking how a pilot from a country with no diplomatic relations with Israel was cleared to operate a Israel-bound flight.
